Family Medicine is the medical specialty that aims at providing comprehensive and continuous health care to all individuals within the context of their families and within their communities. It encompasses all ages, both sexes, and every disease entity.

The specialty of family medicine is a four-years program after general medicine, during which the family doctor will undergo intensive training in the various aspects and fields of medicine, with great emphasis on health maintenance and prevention.
