The Lebanese Society of Family Medicine (LSFM) is the national association
of family doctors in Lebanon. It is a non-profit medical society that
was founded on December 12, 1991 thanks to the invaluable contribution
of three family doctors: Dr. Sami Moukheiber, Dr. Wajdi Khaddaj and
Dr. Nuhad Janadri.
Since its foundation, the society has been active in
setting the standards of quality primary care and in establishing
the guidelines for the practice of family doctors within the Lebanese
community and in collaborating with international authorities in the
field. In 2003, LSFM became an active member of the World Organization
of Family Doctors (WONCA). The Society functions under the governance of the Lebanese
Order of Physicians. Its main office is located in Beit Al Tabib,
Beirut.
